PKN ORLEN: another phase of preparations for offshore wind farm project

The Company has commenced onshore geological surveys along the connection route for its planned offshore wind farm. The work will help delineate an underground cable route to transmit power from the offshore farm to an onshore power station. The survey will be performed in the municipality of Choczewo, where the transmission infrastructure will be built.

PKN ORLEN Selected the design company for its offshore wind farm in Baltic Sea

PKN ORLEN has entered a design phase for the construction of an offshore wind farm project in the Baltic Sea. A preliminary technical design and building permit design for the project will be developed by Offshore Design Engineering Ltd., a UK-based company with over 20 years’ experience in such kind of projects. The initialization of this phase of the project is the result of several months of wind and seabed geology data collection. Once completed, the milestone will enable a detailed project execution plan to be drawn up.

Environmental surveys completed by PKN ORLEN for its offshore wind farm project in Baltic Sea

​After 17 months of extensive surveys by a team of over 50 experts, PKN ORLEN has finally submitted an environmental report for its offshore wind farm project to be developed in the Baltic Sea. Having completed this stage, it is now able to seek a building permit, prepare a detailed schedule and define technical conditions for the project. The survey findings will be used to plan the project’s implementation and subsequent operation so that it optimally interacts with the environment.
