Summary of the program "Choczewo. Wind Powered Commune"

In early December, an exhibition summarizing the realization of initiatives under the program "Choczewo. Wind Powered Commune" was unveiled. In the libary of the Communal Cultural Center in Choczewo the results of projects that have received funding from investors involved in the polish offshore wind sector were presented.

Service port for Baltic Power offshore wind farm to be built in Leba

The port in Łeba will be used to service the Baltic Power offshore wind farm for at least 25 years. The company has signed an agreement to lease a site on which a base will be built for service operation vessels to be used for maintenance of approximately 70 wind turbines. The Baltic Power offshore wind farm is scheduled to be operational in 2026.

Service port for Baltic Power offshore wind farm to be built in Łeba

Baltic Power has won a lease contract for land at the Łeba seaport to support its offshore wind farm. It will accommodate service facilities to support the wind farm project, scheduled for 2024–2026. During that time, about 70 wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 1.2 GW will be erected in the sea, serviced by a fleet of vessels operating from the port in Łeba.

Baltic Power has held talks with potential suppliers on building supply chain for offshore wind project

Almost 600 representatives of 369 companies and institutions attended a meeting for those interested in collaboration on the Baltic Power project. Building a strong supply chain is now among the crucial steps leading up to the launch of this project, which is of strategic importance to the entire power sector. In line with the project’s schedule, the work will start in 2024 and be completed in 2026.

Baltic Power invitation to tender (RFI) for Marine Warranty Surveyor

Baltic Power intends to conduct and invites interested parties to participate in a Request for Information (RFI) for the services to be provided by Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) for the project. The services will be provided for the construction period of the offshore wind farm, which is planned to be conducted between 2024 and 2026.

Baltic Power appoints financial advisor for the project

A consortium comprising Pekao Investment Banking and Green Giraffe has been mandated as financial advisor for the offshore wind farm project Baltic Power. The two companies will be responsible for raising funding for the project, which is due to start in 2024, with commercial operation planned in 2026.

Baltic Power finalises geotechnical surveys of the Baltic Sea bed

​Twelve specialised vessels are beginning the main phase of geotechnical surveys of the Baltic Sea bottom in the area of the planned wind farm and along the connection route. Completion of the tests is scheduled for later this year. The results will provide a basis for the development of a detailed plan of locations of the foundations for the turbines and offshore substations and their connection to the onshore transmission infrastructure.

Energy Regulatory Office awards support for Baltic Power wind farm

The Energy Regulatory Office has granted support for the Baltic Power project in the form of a 25-year Contract for Difference (CfD). Under the CfD, the project owner will receive payments covering any negative balance of electricity generated offshore and fed into the grid, which means that the project will be compensated for the potential difference between the market price of electricity and the strike price of the CfD.
