Summary of the program "Choczewo. Wind Powered Commune"

In early December, an exhibition summarizing the realization of initiatives under the program "Choczewo. Wind Powered Commune" was unveiled. In the libary of the Communal Cultural Center in Choczewo the results of projects that have received funding from investors involved in the polish offshore wind sector were presented.
"Choczewo. Wind Powered Commune" is an initiative aimed at residents of the Pomeranian municipality of Choczewo. In this area the infrastructure necessary to bring power from offshore wind farms to land is under construction. Soon it will provide green energy for Polish households.
The exhibition opened at the Communal Cultural Center in Choczewo summarizes the temporal implementation of the program. In 2023, a total of 111 ideas were submitted, of which more than 68 projects received financial support, for a total value of PLN 1,087,000. The December meeting at GOKiB in Choczewo, was also an opportunity to taste delicious dishes prepared according to the recipes contained in the special album "From grandma's plate." The book with selected recipes is a record of culinary traditions brought by the ancestors of today's residents of the community, who came to Pomerania after World War II.
The program "Choczewo. Wind Powered Commune" has been jointly implemented for two years by PGE Baltica, Ørsted, Baltic Power and OW Ocean Winds. Among those who have benefited from financial support so far are volunteer firefighters from local villages, farmer's wives' associations and local sports clubs. The beneficiaries of the projects are senior citizens, adults, children and youth of the Choczewo municipality.
