Changes in the Management Board of Baltic Power

Baltic Power announces that Kamil Kobyliński has been appointed to the Management Board of Baltic Power as a Member. He replaces Jarosław Broda, who has departed the project.

Kamil Kobilyński, joining as the new Board Member, is an experienced manager and energy sector expert with over 20 years of practice in the Polish and European energy markets. Throughout his career, he has progressed from junior roles to senior leadership positions, working for both international and domestic companies in the Energy and Oil & Gas sectors, including Vattenfall, PGNiG Termika, Tauron Polska Energia, GE Power, the PGE Group, EdP Renewables, and TotalEnergies. He specialises in business management, organisation development, strategic consulting, and leading energy transition projects. For more than five years, Mr. Kobyliński has been actively involved in the offshore wind energy sector, where he has held key roles such as Director of Offshore Wind Farm Projects at PGE Baltica and Offshore Director at TotalEnergies in Poland. He has also served as Management Board Member of TotalEnergies Renewables in Poland. Starting from September 2023 he has been the Chief Operations Officer and Board Member of ORLEN Neptun.

First foundations at the Baltic Power offshore farm installed

As scheduled, the offshore construction of the first Polish offshore wind farm Baltic Power, a joint venture between Orlen Group and Northland Power, has commenced in January. The first monopiles, the main part of the foundation, have successfully been installed in the Baltic Sea. In total, 78 foundations for both of the turbines and the offshore substations will be installed. Following the foundation work, the installation of wind turbines, substations, and subsea connecting cables will proceed. This operation is the first of its kind in Polish Baltic waters, setting the stage for a new era of energy production in the region.

Baltic Power's offshore substation structures have left the port of Gdynia. They are now sailing for outfitting.

Manufactured at shipyards in Gdynia and Gdańsk, the steel structures of two offshore substations of the Baltic Power wind farm are now completed and have sailed off to the port of Aalborg (Denmark) for the outfitting. They will be installed in the Baltic Sea this autumn.

First eligible fishermen received compensations from Baltic Power

In accordance with the Transitional Compensation Scheme, the first compensation payments have been made to fishermen who carried out fishing activities in the area of the Baltic Power offshore wind farm. The transitional compensation scheme is valid for the construction of the offshore wind farm or until ministerial regulations are in place.
