Baltic Power invitation to prequalification for tendering for Offshore Construction Services & Equipment

Baltic Power intends to conduct and invite interested parties to a prequalification for tendering for several equipment supplies and services to support the offshore construction activities for the project. The services and equipment shall be provided for the offshore construction period of the offshore wind farm, which is planned to be conducted between 2024 and 2026.

The delivery for the services and equipment covers the following scopes:

  1. Aids to Navigation (AtoN), covering the following sub scopes:
    • Rental or purchase of equipment
    • Deployment, retrieval, and maintenance

  2. Weather Buoys, covering the following sub scopes:
    • Rental of equipment
    • Deployment, retrieval, and maintenance

  3. Guard Vessel (GV compliant with wind industry standards) [lease]

  4. Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV compliant with wind industry standards) [lease]

  5. Vessel audits (I.M.C.A. accredited, HSE experienced surveyors)

  6. Personal Protection Equipment, covering but not limited to the following sub scopes:
    • Survival suite
    • Life Jacket
    • Personal Locator Beacon (PLB)
    • Working at height equipment

  7. Weather Forecasting Services

  8. Manpower Resources, covering the following sub scopes:
  • On and Offshore Client Representatives (foundation, subsea cables, wind turbine
  • Offshore Technicians (Maintenance of offshore assets during the construction phase)

 

  1. Temporary Office Facility, covering the following sub scopes:
    • Office, meeting room
    • Canteen
    • Toilet, Shower
    • Changing room, drying room
    • Storage (climate controlled)

 

To be considered for invitation, interested parties shall be able to demonstrate a track record for the delivery of services and equipment for offshore or similar onshore construction EPCI projects as described above. And shall together with the confirmation of interest deliver a company presentation and relevant references (project details, scope covered, dates/duration) .

2. Contract Implementation

Start: January 2024 | End: November 2025

Baltic Power is currently one of the fastest progressing offshore wind farm projects in the Baltic. The farm will be located about 22 km north off the Baltic coastline, near Łeba and Choczewo, and will be home to aprox. 70 wind turbines. The Baltic Power offshore wind farm, with an installed capacity of up to 1,200 MW, is expected to ultimately supply clean electricity to about one million households for over 25 years.

Baltic Power obtains first Design Conformity Certificates for an offshore wind farm in Poland

First foundations at the Baltic Power offshore farm installed

As scheduled, the offshore construction of the first Polish offshore wind farm Baltic Power, a joint venture between Orlen Group and Northland Power, has commenced in January. The first monopiles, the main part of the foundation, have successfully been installed in the Baltic Sea. In total, 78 foundations for both of the turbines and the offshore substations will be installed. Following the foundation work, the installation of wind turbines, substations, and subsea connecting cables will proceed. This operation is the first of its kind in Polish Baltic waters, setting the stage for a new era of energy production in the region.

Baltic Power's offshore substation structures have left the port of Gdynia. They are now sailing for outfitting.

Manufactured at shipyards in Gdynia and Gdańsk, the steel structures of two offshore substations of the Baltic Power wind farm are now completed and have sailed off to the port of Aalborg (Denmark) for the outfitting. They will be installed in the Baltic Sea this autumn.
